    Professor Auricchio has been the Director of the Heart Failure Program and Clinical Electrophysiology Unit at the Fondazione Cardiocentro Ticino in Lugano, Switzerland since 2006. His focus is on cardiac catheterization and cardiac electrophysiology. His main areas of research are in clinical electrophysiology - mapping techniques in dilated cardiomyopathies and non-pharmacological therapy of arrythmias - and non-pharmacological therapies for heart failure. He has been the recipient of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology's Young Investigator Award (1996) and the the Fritz Acker Award from Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Kardiologie.
