Dr. Barice received her MD from Stanford, MPH from Harvard, did her preventive medicine residency at the Palm Beach County Health Department, internal medicine residency at St Louis University, and is board certified in internal, preventive and addiction medicine. She serves on the faculty of University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University medical schools.
She has been a national leader in Addiction Medicine, pioneering the Florida Society of Addiction Medicine, achieving designation of the specialty by the Florida Medical Association, later recognized by the AMA, leading to physician education on addiction, and improved coverage for treatment of addiction. She helped initiate intervention programs for addicted professionals in Florida. She has numerous other accomplishments that have benefited public health, including those in the fields of chronic pain management and complementary medicine.
