Dr. Kevin O'Neil is the Chief Medical Officer for Brookdale Senior Living. He is a Clinical Professor in the School of Aging Studies at the University of South Florida. Dr. O'Neil moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1984 where he practiced Internal Medicine and Geriatrics until 2005. He was named Sarasota's Best Doctor in 2004 and is listed in America's Top Doctors. He was appointed to the Board of Governors of Hospital Corporation of American in 1988 by Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. Previously, Dr. O'Neil was an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Dr. O'Neil is a co-editor and contributing author of the Optimal Aging Manual, which Art Linkletter called "The Great Master Book for the Boomers." Dr. O'Neil is a graduate of Boston College and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center and his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Geriatrics Society. He has received a CMD (Certified Medical Director) from the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) and is a member of AMDA's Clinical Practice Committee and the Care Transitions Subcommittee.
